Bridges: The tour starts this week

Bridges single ‘BFF’ was released February 16th via Bearpit Records, preceding a UK tour which is shaping up to be great. All the dates are below as part of the interview, and here’s that single:

  1. Where and when did you first discover your interest in music?

Music is something we have all grown up, since we were about 12/13 we were going to local shows as much as we could. We were all in previous bands before BRIDGES and became what we are now because Joe wanted to drum more.

  1. What are your main ambitions in the industry?

To be writing and performing full time. As long as we are doing that we are achieving all our ambitions.

  1. When did you start writing your own songs/music?

I personally have been writing music since I first was given a guitar for Christmas at the age 13. At the time I was heavily into Mötorhead, which is actually how me and Henry first met. Over the years I wrote songs in several bands and solo projects before we created BRIDGES.

  1. What would you say is your music career highlight to date?

It’s difficult to say really as we are always striving to achieve the best we can. Last year we played a lot of cool festivals, including headlining the forest stage at 2000 trees and playing a small stage at Glastonbury. The year before that we won Rock the House and played the House of Commons. Last year I met Mike Joyce ( The Smiths)after an acoustic BRIDGES performance

who said I had ‘the voice of an English Jeff Buckley’. That was pretty cool.

  1. Who will we hear in your songs? What are your influences?

Think Bombay meets KOL meets Manchester Orchestra. We all have so many different influences its mad, but there are a few bands we all agree are awesome.

  1. What’s the most important thing you’d want to tell people about your current release?

This is our first release with Bearpit Records who we are incredibly privileged to be working with. It’s a song about remembering who is important and having all the fun. You can download it from the 16th February through iTunes, our website and the label site. We will have a few limited edition physicals with us on our next live dates as well so be sure to grab one quick.

  1. Who else can you recommend from your genre or local area for people to have a listen to?

All of the bands involved with UATM are great. You can check them out here:
